modeMD Delivers Real Time Cross Coverage Allowing
Physicians to Spend More Time with Their Patients
modeMD Hospital launches Version 2 of their highly acclaimed electronic charge
capture and rounds management service including electronic cross coverage.

Reno, NV – January 8, 2003 - Physicians can now spend more time with their
patients or their families as a result of a new feature just released by modeMD.
modeMD assists inpatient care physicians in recouping some $25 billion in missed
revenues annually. Industry surveys indicate up to 30% of doctors' claims are
filed with errors, and nearly 15% get lost, resulting in $35,000 to $100,000 in
unpaid claims per doctor per year.
Now with Version 2, modeMD also provides significant time savings to physicians
by freeing them up from end of day cross-coverage hand written notes - typically
taking a doctor 30 to 60 minutes each day.
By providing electronic cross-coverage, modeMD increases the accuracy and
timeliness of cross-coverage. For the first time, physicians can electronically
transfer key patient information to a cross-covering colleague. This information
can be transferred from one PDA to another directly, or if the physicians do not
meet face-to-face, through the modeMD Datacenter.
The modeMD service, launched in 2002, now expands with significant new features
also delivered in Version 2 of their product, including:

With the modeMD Hospital service, physicians click through patient billing
charts using a personal digital assistant (PDA) to record and capture billing
information during a patient consultation. The information is then simply
uploaded via the touch of a button from the PDA to the modeMD Datacenter where
practice managers or billing staff retrieve the ready coded, readable, complete
information to process billings faster and more accurately than ever before.
