Missed Revenues A Thing Of The Past: New Service
Puts Physicians And Practice Managers In Charge

modeMD Hospital launches nationally – new service streamlines and enhances inpatient charge capture making physicians and practices more profitable, improving patient care

Las Vegas, Nevada – October 24, 2002— Physicians and their practice managers have a new tool at hand to increase profitability, streamline the charge capture process and improve patient care: modeMD Hospital.  modeMD Hospital is positioned to assist the inpatient medical industry in recouping some $25 billion in missed revenues annually.  Industry surveys indicate up to 30% of doctors’ claims are filed with errors, and nearly 15% get lost, resulting in $35,000 to $100,000 in unpaid claims per doctor per year

The modeMD service, launching October 27th at the Medical Group Management Association national conference in Las Vegas, has received rave reviews from both physicians and their practice management staff. Myron Gomez, M.D., Director of Trauma said, "modeMD Hospital is invaluable in organizing my clinical day; it’s the best tool I’ve encountered in capturing charges for billing."

Damon Zavala, M.D., Internal Medicine Hospitalist said, "modeMD Hospital makes my life easy – saves time and makes me more efficient – and eliminates paperwork!" Dr. Adi Bhargava, M.D., Primary Care Internist said, "modeMD Hospital is immensely valuable and very easy to use –my morning hospital rounds flow much more smoothly."

With the modeMD Hospital service, physicians click through patient billing charts using a personal digital assistant (PDA) to record and capture billing information during a patient consultation.  The information is then simply uploaded via the touch of a button on the PDA cradle to the modeMD datacenter where practice managers or billing staff retrieve the ready coded, readable, complete information to process billings faster and more accurately than ever before.

"The service is designed to allow physicians to spend more time with their patients, not more time with their paperwork," said Roy Graham, modeMD president and CEO. "The result is improved patient care, enhanced profits for the practice and better record keeping, making the practice as a whole more efficient."

For use in the inpatient physician's practice where billing/coding has a larger margin for error, modeMD Hospital puts the physician in charge.  For multiple physician practices, the service provides greater accuracy and record transmission between physicians: patient data can be beamed from PDA to PDA, downloaded by office staff or delivered to relief physicians via email.  "Easy. That's the best part of the modeMD Hospital program," Dr. Gomez said.
