Oct. 28, 2002, Las Vegas -- (MobileVillage) -- At the Medical Group Management
Association conference this week, modeMD introduced its modeMD Hospital software,
which allows physicians to record and capture patient billing information on PDAs.
Industry surveys indicate up to 30% of doctors' paper based claims are filed
with errors, and nearly 15% get lost, resulting in $35,000 to $100,000 in unpaid
claims per doctor per year.
The modeMD software lets physicians enter patient demographic, diagnosis and
treatment information including full ICT and CPD codes. Using the PDA's cradle,
the doctor transfers the information to the modeMD secure data center. The
billing office can then logon to the modeMD website using a standard web browser
and download the charge information. .
For multiple physician practices, the service can also facilitate accurate record
transmission between physicians: patient data can be beamed from PDA to PDA,
downloaded by office staff or delivered to relief physicians via email.
The modeMD service runs on both Palm and Pocket PC based devices, and is
available for trial by signing up at modeMD's website.
